Lithium Technology - Boon for Alberta Economy

Image
Lithium Technology - Boon for Alberta Economy A Bright Spot for Alberta – Electric Vehicles (EV's) - Remarkable It may sound incredible, but electric cars could soon be an economic driver for oil-rich Alberta. The increase in global sales for EV's has been astonishing. In 2010 there were about 17, 000 electric cars on the road but today it's estimated 7.2 million. Sales in 2019 swelled to 2.4 million. Tesla models accounted for most of the increase. General Motors announced it will go all electric by 2035. Key Component of EV Batteries is Lithium- Plenty in Alberta Lithium is a light, soft, silvery-white alkali metal. A key component of the batteries in EV's is lithium, the type found in Alberta, if you know where to look.   "There are a lot of opportunities for lithium in Alberta," said Roy Eccles, a senior consultant with Apex Geo-science in Edmonton.   SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2013 Turtle Colours on the Pond My pond out back never fails to amaze me. This summer I have spotted turtles of unusual colours, one is white (solid bone white top shell) and the other is red (solid fire-engine red top shell) I only have pictures and a  video of the white turtle so far. Stayed tuned though. The white turtle appears orange in the video but that is because it is swimming in tea-coloured pond water. For a better video visit:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia3UeNzfQog

Ashby’s crusading and likeable protagonist Carol is supported by male characters throughout the novel, however, the narrative is shaped and driven forward by her and her supportive female friends. It reinforces an important aspect of social movements across the globe, both historical and contemporary – women were and are there, and more often than not, lead these movements on many levels.   MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2009 Snowmobile Pollution One hour on a typical snowmobile produces more pollution than driving a modern car for a year. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, snowmobiles emit a number of pollutants, including  aldehydes , 1,3- butadiene , benzene, and other polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons ( PAHs ). What happened to the policy banning the recreational use of 2-stroke motors by 2010? This includes ATV's and Jet Skis. Until then, there is way too much pollution in our backyards. Will the world be watching Canada during the G8 Summit in June 2010, wondering why they should reduce their carbon footprint while Canada ignores their carbon  snowprint ?
